Before you book
- You must have passed the Washington knowledge test within the past two years — an expired result means we cannot run the test that day and there is no refund.
- A permit is not required just to sit the test — valid photo ID is enough. A permit or valid licence IS required for any lesson or warm-up where you drive.
- Under 18: you must have completed an approved driver education course.
Which ID do I need?

Frequently asked questions
How much is the road test in Seattle?
The test on its own is $85. With a 40-minute warm-up on the real route it is $150, and with a full hour of warm-up $180. A same-day package that covers both the knowledge test and the road test is $200.
Do I need my own car for the road test?
No. We provide the school vehicle, already insured and inspection-ready. Not having a car is the most common reason people postpone the test, and it is not a blocker here.
Do I need an instruction permit to take the road test?
Not for the test itself — a valid photo ID is enough. You do need a permit or a valid driver licence for any lesson or warm-up where you are the one driving.
How long is a passing road test result good for?
One year. Your knowledge test result, which you must already have, is good for two years.
Can I do the knowledge test and the road test on the same day?
Yes. The same-day package covers both in one visit — the written test first, then the road test.
