Frequently asked questions
How much is a driving lesson in Seattle?
A 60-minute lesson is $100, 90 minutes $150 and two hours $190. Hourly packages — 6, 7 and 10 hours — work out cheaper per hour.
Do I need a permit to take lessons?
Yes. You are the one driving, so a valid instruction permit or a valid driver licence is required. The road test itself is different — for that a valid photo ID is enough.
Do you have Chinese-speaking instructors?
Yes — Mandarin, Cantonese and English. You can learn and ask questions in the language you actually think in.
I have driven for years abroad. Do I need lessons?
Most experienced drivers fail on the parts scored differently in the U.S. — right-of-way at four-way stops, the scored manoeuvres, and the head movement examiners look for on mirror and shoulder checks. A refresher package is designed exactly for that.
What is a pre-test warm-up?
A lesson in the test car on the actual test route, immediately before your exam. It removes most of the surprises — the route, the car, and what the examiner is scoring.
