1What should you do before you show up for your exam?
- You must have created and be able to log in to your WA State DOL License Express account.
- You must bring a valid photo ID (WA ID, passport, green card, etc.).
- Make sure to thoroughly study the WA State driver guide before your test.
2What is the refund policy?
- You can get a refund if you cancel more than 24 hours before your appointment.
- No-shows will not receive a refund.
- If you show up but cannot take the test because you cannot log in to License Express, you will still be charged.
3Who is eligible to take the knowledge test?
- You must be at least 15-1/2 years old.
- If you are currently enrolled in driver's ed (and are under 15-1/2), you must have completed the classroom portion of the course.
- If you are under the age of 15-1/2, you can take the knowledge test, but cannot get a permit until you turn 15-1/2.
4What can I expect for the test?
- 40 multiple-choice questions. You must answer at least 32 correctly to pass.
- The testing session is up to 40 minutes long.
- You can take the test in 13 languages: Arabic (العربية), Chinese — Simplified (简体中文) and Traditional (繁體中文), English, Japanese (日本語), Korean (한국어), Punjabi (ਪੰਜਾਬੀ), Russian (Русский), Serbo-Croatian, Spanish (Español), Tagalog, Ukrainian (Українська) and Vietnamese (Tiếng Việt). Hindi isn't offered — but Punjabi is.
- The test is done online on your own phone or laptop, in our office only.
- You cannot review the questions you answered incorrectly, because the question bank is limited.
- If your package includes unlimited attempts and your second attempt is still below 70%, then for at least two weeks you can only book a test in a session shared with other customers — you can't take a time slot on your own.
5Six mistakes that stop people from testing
- Not being able to log in to License Express on the day — this is the single most common reason people cannot test. Log in and confirm it works before you come, not at the door. Password resets and identity checks can take days; nothing can be fixed at our counter, and a missed appointment is not refunded.
- Testing under a different number than the one on your ID. A WA ID card or instruction permit is a WA licensing record. If you already have one but answer "No" in License Express, the system issues you a second number — and it no longer matches the one you booked with. You may only ever hold one WA licensing number. Not sure? Look it up before you come.
- Arriving with no photo ID. Your passport counts as photo ID. Without an acceptable one we cannot verify who you are, and you cannot test.
- Your phone or laptop dies mid-test. The test runs on your own device. Bring a charger or a power bank — if it dies, that attempt is gone.
- Coming before you are old enough. You must be 15½, or 15 with traffic safety education completed. If you do not qualify, your score is deleted even after you sit the test — and there is no refund.
- Booking a road test on an expired knowledge test. A knowledge test result is valid for two years. Check your date before booking — if it has expired, you must pass the knowledge test again first.

5六个最常见、最耽误事的错误
- 当天登不上 License Express —— 这是最多人考不成的原因。 请来之前就登录一次、确认能进，别到了门口才试。改密码和身份验证可能要好几天，柜台当场解决不了，错过的预约也不退款。
- 用了和自己 ID 上不一致的驾照号码。 WA ID 或学习许可（instruction permit）本身就是一条 WA licensing record。已经有了却在 License Express 里选「没有」，系统会再发一个新号码，跟你预约时填的对不上，当天就考不了。一个人只能有一个 WA 号码 —— 不确定就先查清楚再来。
- 没带带照片的证件就来。 护照就算有效的照片证件。一份都没有，我们无法核对身份，也就不能考。
- 考到一半手机或电脑没电。 考试是在你自己的设备上进行的。自带充电器或充电宝 —— 中途没电，这次机会就没了。
- 年龄不够就来考。 须年满 15 岁半；或已满 15 岁且已修完 traffic safety education（驾驶员安全教育课程）。不符合的话，就算考了成绩也会被删除，而且不退款。
- 笔试成绩已过期，却还在约路考。 笔试成绩有效期两年。约之前自己核对一下日期 —— 过期了必须先重考笔试。

1¿Qué debe hacer antes de presentarse al examen?
- Debe haber creado su cuenta de License Express del DOL de WA y poder iniciar sesión en ella.
- Debe traer una identificación con foto vigente (WA ID, pasaporte, green card, etc.).
- Estudie a fondo la guía del conductor (Driver Guide) del estado de Washington antes del examen.
2¿Cuál es la política de reembolso?
- Le reembolsamos si cancela con más de 24 horas de anticipación.
- Si no se presenta, no hay reembolso.
- Si llega pero no puede hacer el examen porque no logra iniciar sesión en License Express, se le cobra igual.
3¿Quién puede hacer el examen teórico?
- Debe tener al menos 15 años y medio.
- Si está inscrito en un curso de manejo (driver's ed) y aún no cumple 15 años y medio, debe haber terminado la parte teórica del curso (classroom portion).
- Si aún no cumple 15 años y medio, puede hacer el examen teórico, pero no recibirá el permiso hasta cumplirlos.
4¿Cómo es el examen?
- 40 preguntas de opción múltiple. Hay que acertar al menos 32 para aprobar.
- La sesión dura hasta 40 minutos.
- Puede hacer el examen en 13 idiomas: árabe (العربية), chino (simplificado y tradicional), inglés, japonés (日本語), coreano (한국어), punyabí (ਪੰਜਾਬੀ / Punjabi), ruso (Русский), serbocroata, español, tagalo (Tagalog), ucraniano (Українська) y vietnamita (Tiếng Việt). El hindi no está disponible, pero el punyabí sí.
- El examen se hace en línea desde su propio teléfono o computadora, únicamente en nuestra oficina.
- No podrá repasar las preguntas que falló, porque el banco de preguntas es limitado.
- Si tu paquete incluye intentos ilimitados y tu segundo intento sigue por debajo del 70 %, durante al menos dos semanas solo podrás reservar el examen en una sesión compartida con otros clientes, no un horario solo para ti.
5Seis errores que impiden presentarse al examen
- No poder entrar en License Express el mismo día: es, con diferencia, el motivo más frecuente por el que alguien no puede examinarse. Inicie sesión y compruebe que funciona antes de venir, no en la puerta. Restablecer la contraseña o verificar la identidad puede tardar días; en el mostrador no tiene solución, y la cita perdida no se reembolsa.
- Presentarse con un número distinto al de su identificación. Una tarjeta WA ID o un instruction permit ya son un WA licensing record. Si ya tiene uno pero responde «no» en License Express, el sistema le asigna un segundo número que ya no coincide con el de su reserva. Solo puede tener un número de WA. ¿No está seguro? Compruébelo antes de venir.
- Venir sin identificación con foto. El pasaporte sirve. Sin una identificación válida no podemos verificar quién es usted y no podrá examinarse.
- Que el teléfono o el portátil se quede sin batería durante el examen. El examen se hace en su propio dispositivo. Traiga cargador o batería externa: si se apaga, pierde el intento.
- No tener la edad mínima. Debe tener 15 años y medio, o 15 con la traffic safety education completada. Si no cumple, su resultado se elimina aunque haga el examen, y no hay reembolso.
- Reservar el examen práctico con el teórico caducado. El resultado del examen teórico vale dos años. Revise la fecha antes de reservar: si ha caducado, primero debe volver a aprobar el teórico.
