What's on the test
The knowledge test has 40 multiple-choice questions covering traffic laws, road signs, safe-driving practices, driving under the influence (DUI), and what to do after a collision.
Every question is drawn from the official Washington Driver Guide. There are no trick questions — each answer is in the guide.
- At least 4–5 road sign questions.
- 2–3 questions on alcohol and driving.
- 1–2 questions on drugs / marijuana.
- Tip: "inattention blindness" means distracted driving.
